Chiropractic Services
Chiropractic care for animals has been offered for the last century, and possibly long before we have documentation of animals receiving adjustments. Chiropractic focuses on the relief of vertebral subluxation complexes, or VSCs. A VSC occurs when a joint becomes stuck and cannot move completely freely. This can happen in any joint, including the joints along the vertebral column, or spine. When a joint is stuck, it is like a traffic jam for the nervous system. Some traffic can get through, but the flow of traffic isn't optimal. In the body, a jam in the nervous system creates pain, inflammation and decreases how well the overall body functions.
A chiropractic treatments involves our veterinarians examining the animal for areas where things have become stuck. Once the VSC is found, the doctor relieves the VSC by restoring motion in the joint with a high speed thrust into the VSC. This adjustment is not painful for the animal, and many animals experience a release of endorphins after the adjustment. The overall goal is to restore proper motion in the entire body.
We offer chiropractic care for both small and large animals. Chiropractic care can help animals with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. Restoration of normal motion can alleviate areas of pain and tension, and improve an animals normal biology.
